Still seeing Falcons

F-16 Fighting Falcon arriving at Luke AFB.
We heard back in March that the first F-35 had been delivered to Luke AFB, and that more were to follow shortly.  I don't know how much flying they're doing as of yet, but I keep looking for them.  So far, no joy...  The F-16s are still the main show.

They are loud as hell. I saw them when I was out at Nellis. I thought the F-22's were loud. One of our mechs was saying he was next to a 35 during run up. His gums and sinuses hurt for hours.

I may have heard them, then. I suspect they're trying to avoid a lot of power in the pattern at this point since Luke AFB is getting encroached upon by housing developments.

Funnily enough, we were discussing that, how at places like Luke it is going to be interesting.

Some of the noises don't bother me. For some reason, the F-22 howl is somewhat comforting to me. But that F-35... whoa.

Yeah, I grew up around J-57's and J-79's, (F-100, F-4, F-8) so the sound of jets is almost "comfort noise" to me. I'm not sure that will be the case for the people in Surprise, as they're pretty much under the normal take off path.
